SpeedLead ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SpeedLead Chrome extension and website at speedlead.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our products.
1. Overview
SpeedLead is designed with privacy in mind. The extension processes web page content locally in your browser to extract publicly visible contact information such as email addresses. We do not operate a backend server that receives your browsing data.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
SpeedLead does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your browsing history or URLs you visit
- Personal information beyond what you voluntarily provide (e.g., waitlist email)
- Extracted email addresses or contact data from web pages
- Account credentials or authentication data
- Location data or device identifiers for tracking purposes
3. Local Data Processing
All email extraction and DOM parsing occurs entirely within your browser on your local device. Extracted contact information remains on your device unless you choose to copy or export it. We do not upload page content or extracted results to any external server.
4. Chrome Extension Permissions
SpeedLead requests only the minimum permissions required to function:
- activeTab — Access the current tab only when you click the extension icon
- scripting — Inject extraction logic into the active tab upon user action
- storage — Store local preferences within your browser
We do not request broad host permissions such as
<all_urls>
and do not access tabs you have not explicitly activated.
5. Website & Waitlist
If you submit your email address on our website to join the beta waitlist, we collect only the email address you provide. This information is used solely to notify you about product updates and beta access. You may request removal at any time by contacting us.
6. Analytics
Our website may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. GA4 may collect anonymized usage data such as page views and referral sources. You can opt out via browser extensions or Google's opt-out tools. The Chrome extension itself does not include analytics tracking.
7. Data Sharing & Sale
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
8. Data Retention
Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request deletion or until they are no longer needed for the stated purpose. Extension data stored locally in your browser can be cleared at any time through Chrome's extension or browser data settings.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
